Who is the God whom you serve?
Joshua 24:14-15
Whatever takes the 1st place in your heart, is what you are serving.
We cannot know God, He reveals Himself to us, if we seek Him diligently.
The God who says, “I am who I am”.
Knowing His name will be the shelter for us.
-Psalm 38 says, “our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth”.
-Psalm 91:14-15 says, “I will protect him, because he knows My NAME”.
Knowing His name will help us understand His character.
Exodus 3:13-15
In the 14th verse, God said to Moses, “I am who I am”.
He is a living God.
He can deliver us from all bondages.
He is also a God of generations.
Exodus 20:5-6
I the Lord am a jealous God
Both blessings and curse flows through generations.
Exodus 33:17-33
Exodus 35:5-7
God is a forgiving God
One one hand, God is a forgiving God, but on the other, He allows the curses and sins to transfer to generations.
This is an abrupt contradiction.
But His forgiveness has a way. A sacrifice was made to free mankind of its sins.
Romans 3:21-24
The only way to be saved is to believe in Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross
3 witnesses for God being a merciful God.
- Moses
- Nehamiah 9:17
- David in Psalms 130:1-4, says, God forgives all our iniquities
There is no condemnation for ones who are saved.
If God had not provided forgiveness, if Jesus wont have died on the cross for our sins, where would we be??!
But! God cannot forgive unless we repent.
1 Cor 6:9-11 says, “You were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God.”
We pray, God, forgive our sins, as we forgave those who sinned against us.
We need to let it go and forgive.
