Mathew 28: 19-20.
God has commissioned us to GO, reach out to the lost and make disciples and teach them what he taught us. He has accomplished his father purpose on the cross by redeeming us. We are purposed to fulfil his commission. God do not have a plan B and it is our responsibility to fulfil it. Everything in our life including family, job etc. Is just to support this cause
Where is our Mission Field?
Acts 1:8,
“When the Holy Spirit come upon you, you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and all of Judea, Samaria and to the end of the earth.”
Witnessing is to give an account of what we know about him. You can only witness when the Holy Spirit is within you. Many a times we speak about religious ideas, philosophies, Moral codes etc., but that doesn’t bring conviction to the human heart. It is only the Holy Spirit which can bring conviction to people’s heart
We should be witnesses in all the area of our influence including school, collages, office, home etc.
Are we capable of Witnessing? What we will witness?
Mark 1:17-20, Jesus says,“Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”.
Jesus picked up insignificant people to build them up. They were uneducated, not skilled or were not good orator and came from different cultural backgrounds
Nothing by our efforts, talents, and skills but only by the power of the Holy Spirit can we are moulded. Whom are we following? Is it the prince of this world or the one who redeemed you?
If you follow Christ, he will teach you how to fish and we will witness based on that life which we have by following the elementary principles of the Christ rather than the world
Why we don’t witness?
Mathew 16:24-27,“If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me”
What you mean by disciple? – Learner
Deny Himself
We need to be willing to give up your rights or control. We should ask God what his Will is rather moving in our own desires
Galatians :4:3-10
3 And that’s the way it was with us before Christ came. We were like children; we were slaves to the basic spiritual principles[a]of this world.4 But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. 5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.[b]6 And because we[c] are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”[d] 7 Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child.[e] And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.8 Before you Gentiles knew God, you were slaves to so-called gods that do not even exist. 9 So now that you know God (or should I say, now that God knows you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world?
Whom are we enslaved? Christ or Satan
Take up his Cross
Be submissive and humble like him. You will go through persecution. Be submissive to his needs.
Follow me
It is all about him. We need to just surrender
