The Word this week

Gal 5:1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is a message of Freedom. He set us free from SIN. We are no more under slavery of SIN. We are now equipped with the power to overcome SIN. We would never have known sin if there was no Law. The Law work like a tutor or guide to lead us to the fact that we are sinners and we are corrupt from within and totally depraved. The wages of SIN is death, eternal separation from God and His Love. On realizing the state we are in the, natural reaction would be to shout our "SAVE ME" . We need a Saviour. God send His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ as our Saviour. He came into this world, was born a man, lived a sinless life and then of His own free will, in obedience to His Father, went to the cross. Jesus died in our place, the death we are suppposed to die, the death that is rightfully ours. Jesus died and was buried and rose again from the dead on the 3rd day.  Death was defeated.

Now every man who needs a Saviour can on his / her own choice can turn to Jesus and receive Him as their personal Saviour and Lord. Jesus waits with arms open wide to receive every SINNER who needs a SAVIOUR! Every person who comes to this experience experiences FREEDOM from SIN and now can live an overcoming LIFE.  Please read the below verses:

Rom 5:6  For when we were still helpless, Christ died for the wicked at the time that God chose.
Rom 5:7  It is a difficult thing for someone to die for a righteous person. It may even be that someone might dare to die for a good person.
Rom 5:8  But God has shown us how much he loves us---it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us!
Rom 5:9  By his blood we are now put right with God; how much more, then, will we be saved by him from God's anger!
Rom 5:10  We were God's enemies, but he made us his friends through the death of his Son. Now that we are God's friends, how much more will we be saved by Christ's life!

These verses clearly show that God did not accept us because we were acceptable. He did so because we surrendered! We were His enemies. We rebelled against Him. But when we realize our hepless state, and turn to Him, He becomes the lover of our soul. God has now demonstrated publicly His love for all of mankind and now invites the whole of mankind to living relationship with a LIVING GOD!

Once we have come into a living relationship with God through what Jesus did on the CROSS, we now enjoy an exciting relationship with God. The basis of this relationship is GRACE: Consider the following verses

Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love with which He loved us
Eph 2:5  (even when we were dead in sins) has made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved),

GRACE of GOD saved us: Grace means that what we did not deserve (forgiveness, healing, freedom, restoration, prosperity) we were given freely. God's mercy protected us from God's wrath. Mercy means we did not receive what we rightfully we deserve (Death and Curse). Jesus on the CROSS became a curse and took all our SINS on Himself. See the two verses below

Gal 3:13  Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone having been hanged on a tree");

2Co 5:21  For He has made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

When we came to Jesus, He accepted us as we are. Religion on the other hand drives people to be good so that they can be acceptable by God. So all their live people are trying and trying and trying to be be good by keeping the Law of God. They are working hard to get to Heaven. They do good works with the intention that their GOOD WORKS will give them a better standing with God. But read these verses and see the state of man today: Tha Spiritual Anatomy of a fallen Human

Rom 3:10  as it is written: "There is none righteous, no not one;
Rom 3:11  there is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God."
Rom 3:12  "They are all gone out of the way, they have together become unprofitable, there is none that does good, no, not one."
Rom 3:13  "Their throat is an open grave, with their tongues they have used deceit, the poison of asps is under their lips;
Rom 3:14  whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness;"
Rom 3:15  "their feet are swift to shed blood;
Rom 3:16  destruction and misery are in their way,
Rom 3:17  and the way of peace they did not know."
Rom 3:18  "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

Two question:

How can a man like this please God? Man is miserable. He is desparetely wicked: The Justice of God grants a death sentence to MAN.

How could God accept a man like this? God is Holy. A Holy God cannot fellowship with a SINFUL MAN.

JUSTICE MET MERCY ON CALVARY! God made a provision to accept us as we are.

But many of us, even after coming to the Lord, continue to work hard to get the acceptance of God. We continue to live in slavery to the Law and GUILT when Christ has set us free from the Law of SIN and Death! We no more keep the law to be accepted by God, but we love to keep the Law, because we love God! Many of continue to serve religion. It is time you question why you do what you do and why do you believe what you believe. Some of us have gone on to make addendum to the 10 commandments with commandments 11, 12,13, and so on. We are now bound by laws, rules, regulations, which have bound us and we have lost our freedom! We move from being Son of God to Slaves of Religion. We cease to enjoy SONSHIP and ROYALTY!

2Co 3:17  And the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is liberty; (WHERE GOD IS, THERE IS FREEDOM). Freedom is enjoyed, slavery is suffered!

Joh 8:36  if then the son may make you free, in reality ye shall be free. (JESUS HAS SET US FREE)

Many born again believers live in bondage as they continue to believe a lie of the Devil (which is sometimes even preached from pulpits) that you need still keep the Law to be acceptable to God. We are now accepted in the Beloved! God is pleased with us in His Son  Jesus Christ! WE NEED TO STOP WORKING! Receive the FREE GIFT OF GRACE!

Rom 8:1  There is, then, now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit;
Rom 8:2  for the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus did set me free from the law of the sin and of the death;

May the Lord bless you with His WORD and may set you free to enjoy Him completely!
